I am here this is life. This is love. This is joy. It is a beautiful,
windy (on the shore), sunny, alive, spring day. I resolve to stay here
till dark. The bottle neck is my eyes, and body, when they need
rest/exercise, My work in this way is over, limited, and time must be
given to physical experience.
Also. I have the room-to-find task.
and must adopt it as the greatest goal of my being (for this time) or it will not be pleasant.
I have considered paring down to minimal posessions and not having a place.

He installed his handiwork in broad daylight, dressed in a hard hat and
orange reflective vest to avoid raising suspicion. He even chopped off
his shoulder-length blond hair to fit the role of a blue-collar freeway
worker.
It didn't hurt that his work is displayed before 150,000 people daily.
On an average day, even the Louvre gets only one-tenth that many
visitors.
He even printed up a bogus work order, just in case he was stopped by
police."I tried to make this airtight, because I didn't want anything
to go wrong," he said.

So in addition to the omni-font OCR, Ray and his colleagues developed
the first CCD flat-bed scanner and the first full text-to- speech
synthesizer, and combined these three technologies into the first
print-to-speech reading machine for the blind.
holy shit
Ray, along with leaders of the National Federation of the Blind,
announced the Kurzweil Reading Machine at a press conference on January
13, 1976, which was covered by all of the networks and leading print
publications. Walter Cronkite used it to deliver his signature sign-off
"And that's the way it was, January 13, 1976."
In A-B tests, musicians were unable to distinguish the Kurzweil 250 from a concert grand piano.

:When computers exceed human intelligence_
A noteworthy aspect of Ray Kurzweil's unique track record is that all
four of the companies he founded, built, and sold not only created
entirely new technologies and new markets, but still continue today as
leaders in the same markets that they pioneered.

Computer models of the sleeping brain and recent experimental evidence
point toward slow-wave sleep as a time during which brain cells undergo
extensive structural reorganization.
Introspection is misleading in trying to understand the brain in part
because much of the processing that takes place to support seeing,
hearing and decision- making is subconscious. In studying the brain
during sleep when we are aware of almost nothing, we may get a better
understanding of the brain's secret life.

One memorable moment was at the birthday party. A baby reached out to
Cog and the two, robot and baby, interacted. The baby treated the robot
as if it was a person. Cog appeared to be fascinated by the baby but
is, as yet, unable to speak or to show emotion.
Or the plumber could teleport into our robot and do the plumbing from Brazil.
Breazeal succeeded: Kismet is only a head with eyes, a mouth and ears,
but it shows emotional expressions and acts as if it feels those
emotions. Kismet grows bored if you donít stimulate it by talking or
waving toys at it. Brooks has programmed it to recognise faces and to
remember the emotional history it had with that person. It babbles like
a baby, and may one day learn to talk. Students reinforce its babbling
in the same way that a mother helps her child to learn
